Highly Nonlinear Fiber (HNLF)
FORC Photonics offers two types of nonlinear fibers (HNLF) as follows.
■HNLF Designed to maximize the nonlinear effects of the fiber while minimizing optical loss, used in the construction of light sources, amplifiers, and dispersion compensators for Raman spectroscopy. - Core diameter (μm): 4±0.5 - Cladding diameter (μm): 125±1 - Core NA: ~0.32 - MFD@1550nm (μm): ~4.2 - Cut-off wavelength (μm): ~1 - Dispersion (1550nm) ps/nm/km: >50 - Optical loss (1550nm) dB/km: <5 - Nonconcentricity (μm): <0.5 - Zero dispersion wavelength (nm): >2300 ■HNLF DS Designed for applications that require a shift to the zero dispersion wavelength in the 1550nm band. - Core diameter (μm): 4.5±0.5 - Cladding diameter (μm): 125±1 - Core NA: ~0.32 - MFD@1550nm (μm): ~4.2 - Cut-off wavelength (μm): ~1.5 - Dispersion (1550nm) ps/nm/km: ±4 - Optical loss (1550nm) dB/km: <5 - Nonconcentricity (μm): <0.5 - Zero dispersion wavelength (nm): 1480–1565nm
